The verse is from Matthew 5:16. I came across an obituary the other day of a lady I thought I knew. While reading about her I could tell she must have been a Godly woman. Here is parts of it:
She was passionate about caring for her family, serving in her church, and home cooking. For years she used her devotion to her church, her love for others, and her love for food to be an example of servanthood, cooking meals....She often delivered desserts to unsuspecting recipients, whether it was a friend, bank employees who served her, or her family.
What a great way to be remembered! I wonder how many lives that woman touched with her cooking. Have you sat down and really thought about how you come across to others? Would you be remembered as a grouch? What about a loving mother? We can all find ways to do good works to bring glory to our Father. Here are a few examples:
- Feeding the hungry
- helping someone
- caring for elderly
- do something kind for others
- use your talents for charity
Let your light shine so others will glorify God.
May God Bless you on your journey.

DeleteI love this post. We recently had a loved one die and it has caused me to think about my service to others and how I impact them. Our loved one was truly a man of Jesus. Your post was beautiful and gave me great reflection time. :-)
Thanks Sorry for your loss. I'm glad it touched you as it has me.
DeleteI loved this reminder, especially the fact that one's cooking and sharing glorifies God. In the end, what matters most isn't how we'll be remembered (although we want it to be good) but how the Lord was glorified through our lives. Thanks for the reminder!
