Giving

What does giving mean to you? This time of year its so easy to get greedy and want it all for ourselves. If we give only to make ourselves look good God will not like it. Remember Cain and Able Genesis 4:3-5

Deuteronomy 16:17   "Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given thee."

We are to give only what we have not spend money we dont have to buy gifts or something. We are to keep quiet about those things we do for or give people. Have you ever had someone to give you something only to announce it in front of everybody? Makes you want to give it right back.

Proverbs 28:27 "He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse."

Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

We are to help all we are able to. If we see someone in need and don't help them when we're able we will be cursed. Think about it when we give our reward is bigger than we can hold :) I love that!!

Giving to me is when you give someone something that makes there whole face light up. It means doing a kind gesture without anyone, not even who you do it for, knows about it. Giving to me is to not want for anything in return.

What do you choose?

(Photo taken at Holden Beach, NC)

Each day we have a choice whether we want to serve the Lord or worship false gods. God gives us the right to choose in life. He don't demand us to do anything. He's a loving Father who likes for us to learn to make the right choices in life.

Joshua 14:15And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house we will serve the LORD.

What will you choose? Will you choose to have a good day today? Remember the ole devil will do anything to bring you down. Don't let him have the pleasures of making you feel low.

There are coffee breaks. Early morning wake-up calls. Snooze. Snooze. Snooze. Family dinners. Unexpected gatherings. Repetition.
But one day, one unexpected someday, we are reminded that this day is not conquered by us. Not created by us. Never ever truly what we thought it would be.

Some things may not be to our choice. But, we have the choice how to handle each day.

May God Bless you on your journey.
