Psalm 119:11  Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Have you ever wondered how are we supposed to hide the word in our hearts?

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth: but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Here are some ways I personally hide scripture in my heart...

  • Pray before I begin.
  • Read at least 1 chapter in the bible daily.
  • Read commentary to go with the chapter. I personally like to use the Easy to Read Bible sometimes as well, on biblegateway.com
  • Take notes and highlight verses that I want to remember quickly.
  • Bible Journal scripture. For those of you who don't know what bible journaling is, it's where you illustrate verses. I have been challenging myself to journal at least1 verse per chapter I read. As you can see above I haven't finished today's journal entry nor am I an artist. But, it's fun.
  • Write verses
  • Memorize a verse.
  • Think about the scriptures read throughout the day and how they can be applied to my life.

Do you have a special way you hide the word of God in your heart?

May God Bless you on your journey.

Remember where in the bible....?

 photo ID-10018910_zps11d2ef9e.jpg

I caught myself telling people "it says in the bible..." but I couldn't quote the scripture nor tell where in the bible it was located. So, I decided to start memorizing a scripture each week. For all of you who want to join me. Go by the Lord Lead Me On Facebook page and hit like.

Here are some ways to memorize scripture:
  • Write it down lots of times
  • Post It where you will see it often throughout the day.
  • Read it out loud.
  • Ask someone to read it to you.
Let's see how many scriptures we can memorize together.

May God Bless you on your journey.

Scripture

Almost everything happens to me in the mornings :) Anyways, I was reading the titles of some books this morning when I came across one I couldn't believe it was put in Christian books section. Automatically I recalled the scripture about that very subject. I started thanking God for giving me the ability to hide the scriptures in my heart so I might not sin against him and that I can distinguish what are true and false teachings. I am not the best at remembering scripture but I love music. What helps me lots is to listen to song which are bible based. I look the scriptures up to make sure the song goes along with them. Some use post it notes, index cards, or notebooks.Whatever works best for you, do it. We never know when the old devil will try to sneak in and see if your paying attention.

Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Light and Dark

Photobucket

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

I got to thinking this morning about darkness. Have you noticed how if you are a Godly person you don't like dark things?  Whether it be dark room, dark words and so on. A friend of mine told me once about a visit from her sister. Her sister at the time was practicing witchcraft. My dear friend is a God fearing woman. Her sister came into her home and sat down. Her eyes locked on a picture on the wall of the verse John 3:16. She turned her head fast and said "I have to go. " Why? "Because I can't stand to be here" She jumped in her car and left. I can't imagine the effects the light of God to an unbeliever. Evil things makes me just shutter. I can't stand it I like to having the Light in and around me. Our time here on earth is to prepare us for heaven. If we get used to light here on earth we will be comfortable as can be in heaven. We are to seek after the Light.

May God Bless you on your journey.

Judging Others

Have you ever walked into Walmart and saw someone dressed wildly. You can't help but notice the hot pink hair or the lipstick on a man. I recently went into walmart and had one of them "how could someone dress like that?" thoughts running through my head. The Lord convicted me quickly about it right in the middle of the store. What would i say or think if somebody would would have said anything near that to me? I would have been shocked probably and angry. You may never know the whole story behind those sad faces or them bright clothes. So, I challenge you to not judge but pray for those you see.

Looking over your shoulder

How many times have we heard or ready the letters WWJD or What Would Jesus Do?  In some cases its honestly hard to imagine what Jesus would have done. I got to thinking about how I can make myself more accountable for my own actions. What would I do if Jesus was sitting here looking over my shoulder as I type. I know one thing I would have to stop everything and think hard about my actions. Would I sit here and listen to that vulgar rock song one more time? Of course not. Think about it would you do your normal routine if Jesus were right there listening or looking over your shoulder all the time. Nope.
Try thinking about this:
Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

John 10:10

I have been having some deep thoughts and prayers on what God really wants for my life. Lately the old devil tried to discourage me from doing things I need to do.  I was so down and out I prayed for 3 days straight about it. This morning I read in a book that if we are a threat to the devil he will do anything to get us where he wants us. That really struck me. I was so mad that I had went that low. But, happy at the same time I had found out what was really going on. I didn't think about him using people or circumstances to get me to doubting my mission in life. I so enjoyed doing some things to glorify God after that. Felt so good.  John 10:10 says The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  If the devil isn't hounding us some way we need to check with God to see whats going on. He won't tempt those who aren't a threat. Remember that.
