Praising My Love

I absolutely love reading the Women Living Well blog. Yesterday Courtney started a marriage challenge. I could not wait to jump in. Tony and I have been married for almost 15 years so this should be fun.

Week 1 Challenge - Take the Initiative!  Look for ways to praise your husband verbally.
Praise him in front of the kids, friends, family, co-workers, on facebook, tweet it – get praise out anyway you can! Try to mention something noteworthy he has done – in his role as provider, father, husband, lover, or friend. If the thought of trying to come up with one terrifies you, then pray right now that God will give you new eyes to see your husband as God does. Then open your mouth and say something kind and uplifting to your husband today and tomorrow and the next day until Valentine’s Day arrives!

Praising my hubby face to face or in front of the kids isn't hard. But in front of others will be a challenge. You see me and Tony don't really talk about each other much in front of others. We have saw too many couples bad mouth each others weight, bad habits, and so on. We know how them words can hurt. We do occasionally talk about a few habits each other has but we both know not to go over the limits. While keeping quiet is a good thing it can be bad at the same time. I am gonna try my best to not only praise him face to face but in public too. I want this challenge to go beyond today for me.

I am so proud to be called Tony's wife.

It warms my heart seeing him with the kids. He is what a dad should be. He corrects, teaches comforts and loves all in one. He works hard to provide for us. He is a wonderful friend. Tony goes out of his way to help everyone he can. Last but not least he's a great husband. He is straight up truth, loving, caring, goofy, crazy all around wonderful. He looks out for us and makes sure our needs are met. I am so thankful for each and every day I have with him. I don't have to worry about where he's at or what he's doing. We run a small engine business at our home. Hes got this sweet habit in either taking me with him. Or he will come in, tell me something like I'm going to pick up some gas for the mowers and kiss me. So sweet. He makes life enjoyable. Their is never a dull moment when hes around. I couldn't ask for a better husband and father for our kids.

How about you will you join me and take this marriage challenge too? Lets let our husbands know how much we love and appreciate them.

May God Bless you on your journey.

  1. It's such a treat to "meet" husbands as their wives brag on them - love it!

And I'd imagine you could start a new trend among your circle of friends if you started talking about the good stuff your spouse does, instead of the less-than-good...
